Our VIP membership is a flat fee. It replaces the commission model completely — no percentage is deducted from your master royalties. What Spotify or Apple Music pays us for your streams, we transfer to your balance in full.

99% mechanical royalties

On composition royalties collected via CMOs like BMI, ASCAP, SESAC or SoundExchange, we keep only a 1% administration fee — the lowest in the industry.

Commission vs. tax withholding — don't confuse them

You may have heard that "some distributors take 30% from foreign artists." This is often a misunderstanding. What actually happens is a US IRS tax withholding: US-based platforms may withhold up to 30% of US-sourced income if a non-US artist has not submitted proper tax documentation (Form W-8BEN, tax treaty benefits, etc.).

This withholding is not a distributor commission. It's a federal tax requirement that applies regardless of which distributor you use — if that distributor operates through US-based payment infrastructure and hasn't properly processed your tax paperwork.

Mh Musik does not automatically apply this US withholding to non-US artists. If you have specific questions about how tax treatment applies to your country of residence, contact our support team before releasing.

This model works because members typically release music consistently, and the flat fee is more transparent than a variable commission.
What is the difference between a commission and the 30% US tax withholding? +
A commission is what a distributor charges you as a fee for their service. No hidden fees. VIP members get free distributions included with their plan. Non-VIP users pay per release (Single $9.99, EP $13.98+, Album $33.93+). Can I cancel my VIP membership anytime? +
Yes, cancel anytime with no penalty. Your music stays live on all platforms indefinitely unless you request a takedown or violate our terms of service.
